November in Pictures

It's been a while since my last post. I can hardly believe that we're already in December. This post will be a quick recount of November. So here it is, my November in pictures. Enjoy! My husband and I went with a couple of friends to Santana Row's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. They had quite a few of live performance like ballet dance, A Capella choir, and this young singer from American Idol - Deandre Brackensick. No wonder Santana Row was very crowded that day. We almost couldn't find parking. Also because of the crowd, we couldn't take any decent picture of the performance. However, my husband did manage to snap this picture of the American Idol singer after his performance. Deandre Brackensick After the ceremony, which only lasted around an hour or so, we went to a nearby Chili's for dinner.  That day I decided to try dry rub ribs. It looked really good on the menu. However, it was a little bit too dry for my taste =P Fortunately, I asked for B...

LA Weekend Trip - October 2012

Two weeks ago, we had a short weekend trip to LA to attend our friends' wedding party. We went there with quite a few of good friends. We rented two mini-vans and three hotel rooms to accommodate all 12 of us. It was a fun, but nevertheless very tiring trip. My husband was sick the day after we got back to San Jose. I quickly followed =( We took medication and actually are getting better by now. Anyway, forget the sad story and let's move on to the detail of our trip. On Friday, we departed from San Jose around 6 PM-ish. Fortunately, the traffic was good. We made a quick dinner stop at Gilroy Premium Outlet. Too bad, I didn't have time to check any shop =P We arrived around 11.30 PM at our hotel near LAX area. This time, we stayed at Courtyard by Marriott. Personally, I wasn't very satisfied with the hotel.  Our rooms weren't close to each other. Some were located in the left wing while others were in the right wing. To go to the other wing, we have to g...

Uesugi Farm - Pumpkin Patch

Hello everyone! Today I just wanted to share pictures from my first pumpkin patch experience. Last Saturday, my friends and I went to Uesugi Farm in San Martin. The pumpkin patch was quite big. It was surrounded by corn fields. I believe they also have a corn maze. Too bad when we visited, we didn't have a chance to try it. Anyway, as I've mentioned in my earlier post, I think Fall is the prettiest season. This pumpkin patch visit proves my point. You can see a lot of beautiful fall color palette from these pictures =) Pumpkin Pyramid Pumpkin comes in different size and shape. They have curious names too. My favorite is the Cinderella =) Apparently, the small ones are called munchkins. These munchkins are so cute, I was almost tempted to buy them =P Besides pumpkin, we also saw some unique vegetable like this turban squash. And... weird colorful corns. On the left are a bunch of Strawberry Corns. It was short and plump like a strawberry.  On the oth...

Another Weekend in SF

Welcoming October!  Last weekend we had a double date with our friends, Miss Kristani and her bf, at San Francisco. At first, we were worried that the traffic would be super bad since Oracle Open World 2012 was about to begin. Turned out we were wrong. To our relief, there wasn't much traffic that day.  We departed from San Jose around 2.30PM. We took 280 North straight to Baker Beach. Unfortunately, the weather was unfriendly that day. It was cold and misty. We couldn't see Golden Gate from the beach since it was covered with mist. The only visible parts of the famous bridge were its feet, as you can see in this picture below. Baker Beach It was so cold that day. Plus, the wind was blowing pretty hard. We couldn't stay long in the beach. We decided to head to somewhere warmer - Japan Town.  I always like visiting Japan Town. I haven't had the chance to visit during festivals tho'.  Once arrived at Japan Town, we went straight to get snacks =) Our favo...

Great America Weekend Getaway

A week before my first final this month, we went to our local theme park. Basically, I drive pass this park whenever I go to school. It's in the same road with my out-of-campus school building. Yes, it is that close! Although Great America is so close with where we live, I never have any intention to visit the park. Why? Because I  heard people say that Great America is almost the same with Six Flags... which means its main attractions are roller coasters / thrill rides. And ... you guys know about my low roller-coaster tolerance right? That's why I thought I won't enjoy Great America.  So what brought me to Great America then? The answer is really simple ... my husband had company outing there. The company paid for almost everything: parking, lunch, and entry tickets for two. Yes, I'm scared of the rides, but I won't say no to free stuff =P We arrived there not too early that Saturday (that kinda show how eager I was). I think it was close to 11AM. When we...
