15

What is it with 15? Can you guess? Well, I'm going to visit my parents in 15 more days =) I'm so thrilled and grateful at the same time. It's been almost four years since I got married and moved to the States. I've never been this far apart from my family ... and for such a long time. We are really close to each other, so it is really painful living away from home.  I can hardly wait for the trip. We started planning sometime in May and my Mom has been counting days ever since =) I look forward to spending quality time with them. I am also super excited about all the Indonesian food that I'm gonna eat. I've been craving these food for a while:  Kwetiaw Akiaw Mangga Besar (image from foodspotting.com ) Hokkian Noodle (image from makanmana )     Sate padang (image from AIS MIT website ) and much more! Seriously, Indonesia is a heaven for food lovers. Especially if you love spicy food.  In addition to travelling back to Indonesia, me and ...

Winter Holiday and Welcoming 2013

Happy new year everyone!! =) I know this is a very late post. I have been really busy since the beginning of 2013. Back from our long holiday, somehow I realized that there were a lot of things that needed to be done. I really wish I have more than 24 hours a day =P Anyway, I would like to post pictures from our winter holiday in this first post of 2013. Let this be a wish that 2013 will be bring more opportunity to travel and spend time with loved ones =) We have a very big plan for 2013... we're crossing our fingers and hoping that everything will go well. Enjoy the pictures!   Our trip started with this amazing tri-tip sandwich. This is the best sandwich I've ever eaten! This is from a restaurant called Firestone Grill located in the heart of San Lois Obispo. It was raining that day, so we didn't have much chance to explore the city. Next, we went to the beautiful San Diego. We stayed there for three days and two nights. We went to old-town San Diego and saw...

LA Weekend Trip - October 2012

Two weeks ago, we had a short weekend trip to LA to attend our friends' wedding party. We went there with quite a few of good friends. We rented two mini-vans and three hotel rooms to accommodate all 12 of us. It was a fun, but nevertheless very tiring trip. My husband was sick the day after we got back to San Jose. I quickly followed =( We took medication and actually are getting better by now. Anyway, forget the sad story and let's move on to the detail of our trip. On Friday, we departed from San Jose around 6 PM-ish. Fortunately, the traffic was good. We made a quick dinner stop at Gilroy Premium Outlet. Too bad, I didn't have time to check any shop =P We arrived around 11.30 PM at our hotel near LAX area. This time, we stayed at Courtyard by Marriott. Personally, I wasn't very satisfied with the hotel.  Our rooms weren't close to each other. Some were located in the left wing while others were in the right wing. To go to the other wing, we have to g...

Animal Kingdom - Walt Disney World 2012

Finally, on our last day, we visited Animal Kingdom (AK).  When I was planning for my Orlando trip, I mostly use resources from: 1.  http://touringplans.com/ 2.  http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ 3.  http://www.universalorlando.com/ From those information that I read, AK was actually the park that excite me the most. It was just different. It didn't focus on theme park in general (princesses, castles, fairy tales, cartoon characters) yet it didn't sound as educational as Epcot =P Plus, my husband loves watching animal documentaries. So, I thought he would enjoy this park the most. I wanted to visit this park early on our trip, but somehow looking at our schedule and the parks' crowd level, it wasn't possible. So we ended up saving this park for our last day.  As usual we arrived early in the morning. Then while waiting in front of the turnstiles, we did our theme park morning rituals. Firstly, we put on sunblocks. Then we took park maps and ...
